United Way & Volunteer Services of Greater Yankton June Volunteers are Larry and Linda Kollars. Helping out in the community seems to be second nature to the Kollars.

Larry and Linda volunteer in several areas. Linda is always ready to lend a hand. For RSVP, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, she has volunteered with many organizations. For example Yankton Area Literacy, she dressed up as Dr. Seuss to read to children at Riverboat Days. United Way she helped as receptionist with the Dakota Smiles Mobile. Webster school she volunteers her free time to help out staff.  Keep Yankton Beautiful with the Missouri River Clean Up. Larry is just as busy parking vehicles for the Meade Building Open House.

Larry and Linda have volunteered many hours in the past for Riverboat Days. For the past 10 years Larry has Co-Chaired the Car Show at Riverboat Days. Linda has Co-Chaired Riverboat Days Parade in years past and volunteered in different capacities for the weekend event .

The Kollars have volunteered with Avera Sacred Heart Hospital for a couple of years. They both love to volunteer their time together for the TEAM office each week; areas where they can offer help to patients and run errands. They enjoy doing special projects for Avera Sacred Heart Hospital.

Linda states “we volunteer because we feel like we are making a contribution to the community. It is a little thing. But to some people we help, it is a big thing.”
