Shoot From the Heart for United Way

Shoot from the Heart gives you the opportunity to witness the archery skills of local celebrities. Are you wondering who do you know that that falls into that category? There are MANY such individuals and one of them may be living next door to you!

Shoot from the Heart is on Friday, February 5th from 5:30 - 8:00 pm at the National Field Archery Headquarters located behind the Super 8 Motel. The archery shoot of our local celebrities - Battle of the Sexes - will start at 6:00 pm and our local amateur professionals that will be beaming in on the bull's eye for the Pro Shoot Off will begin at 7:00 pm. Tasty food will be prepared for the after-work event. Tickets for this first-time event are $35 for individuals or $60 for a couple and are available at Dakota Archery, Wells Fargo Bank, National Field Archery Association or United Way & Volunteer Services.

Are you still wondering who the local celebrities are? Some of our elected celebrities on the novice archer roster are Mayor Dan Specht with City Commissioners Dave Carda, Duke Ellingson, Charlie Gross, Paul Lowrie and Nancy Wenande. Joining them are County Commissioners Allen Sinclair and Mark Johnson and School Board President Doug Ekeren, Kathy Greeneway and Chris Specht. Stepping up with bow and arrow in hand will also be Sister Jennifer Kehrwald, Daisy Halverson, Mike Marlow, Sister Maribeth Wentzlaff, Dr. Derek Wesley and Sheila Woodward. They will need lots of support and encouragement for successful placement of the arrows, so please join the fun and at the same time support the work of the 19 agencies that provide services to so many of our neighbors in need.
